My cousin Ilene has a birthday this month.

Ilene and I are just 3 months apart and named after the same grandfather; she is Ilene Joy and I am Ina Jill. We both had very long hair as young girls which we styled into "high pony's." Ilene lived in Queens, New York and was comfortable with the sides of the street known as "gutters." I lived in New Jersey where woods were our playground. Even then, as a 10-year-old I knew Ilene had it all over me. First of all, she lived in the "city." She was taller. Her hair was thicker. Her wardrobe was grander than mine; stylish and expensive. Ilene was gregarious, while I was quiet. And she was a bit of a "bad" girl (read "cool") while I was obedient. I will never forget the shock I felt when I witnessed her and two friends making crank calls, crank calls, repeatedly, to kids in her class! Me? I had to ask permission to use the family phone. I remember wishing I had a fraction of Ilene's guts!

In honor of Ilene, I created this card using the Blow Out The Candles Stamp Set and coordinating Candles and Confetti Framelet Dies from the 2018 Annual Catalogue along with the Amazing Life Stamp Set in the new Occasions Catalogue. Using both stamp sets together, well, is … a piece of cake!!

Start with Whisper White Thick cardstock cut 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4.

Tranquil Tide card stock 5 3/8 by 4 1/8. Run the confetti die two times through the Big Shot at each end of this piece.
Berry Burst card stock 3 1/2 by 3 1/2. Cut with the largest scallop circle die.
Whisper White card stock 2 1/2 by 2 1/2. Cut with largest plain circle die.
Scrap piece of Whisper White card stock for the three candles.

Stamp the sentiment on the upper, slightly right side of the Whisper White circle in Tranquil Tide ink. On the scrap piece of Whisper White card stock stamp three candles in Berry Burst ink, first the candle outline and then layer with the stripes. Finish flame with Daffodil Delight. Run candles through Big Shot. Stamp inside of card as shown with Berry Burst ink.

Carefully remove the confetti from the Tranquil Tide piece using the Big Shot Die Brush. It is easier to do this while the card stock is still attached to the die. Remove any remaining confetti with the Paper Piercing Tool. Adhere to card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Snail Adhesive.

Adhere Whisper White circle to Berry Burst scallop circle with adhesive of choice. Attach to center of card with Stampin' Dimensionals. Arrange candles as shown with Mini Glue Dots.
