Ever find yourself, having found an item seriously searched for by your business traveling husband, racing to stop him before his car rounds the corner on its way to the airport?
Yes, you say? Well you may understand then, as you nod your head in semi-affirmation, or at least non-rejection, the notion of mind losing when the prize is uncovered. And although the item is small, cheap, and available at any hotel commissary, you are an overly determined, did I say driven, individual. And, while in a full sprint down that same driveway he has just reversed from, clutching the plastic shoehorn in your hand, you roll out of your old clog. You have time, however, for that eerie thought, that mental conversation with yourself that says: "you are going to fall!" And of course you do. You fall over your left foot onto your left elbow and hip. There is a nanosecond of an assessment and
another of relief; there is neither sharp pain nor pooling blood. Still holding onto the shoehorn, you manage to get up and limp back into the house. You decide to keep this fall from your husband until he has reached his destination. After all, you were able to walk back into the house, weren't you? You even managed to find an icepack, move the little bench to in front of his chair, sit down, and ice your sore and quickly swelling foot. You are okay, right? Right?
And so is the tale of my first ever broken bone(s) and ensuing cast and crutches.
I made this card in honor of the event. I used the large letter framelets from Stampin' UP! with SU designer series papers and high quality cardstocks in the appropriate colors of black and purple. Um … I also used my newly acquired knee scooter.
