Here is a masking technique, fittingly named and used in my Halloween card class this week.  It is an easy technique with stunning results … not only useful for a gorgeous Halloween full moon, but also a pale winter moon or a brilliant setting sun on a summer eve.

Using a post-it, punch a circle, this one 1 1/2 " on as much the sticky part as possible. (Save the punched circle!)
Place onto cardstock where desired.

Rub sponge or dauber over ink pad, and starting on post it paper, start imparting color in a circular motion, moving on to cardstock. Continue gentle rubbing and going over areas where more color is desired.
Below see the lovely moon with the circle mask removed.

Now place circle to mask  "moon" and add color (background sky?) or stamped image in this case, as desired. Below see how clouds are added for this Halloween card.

Remove mask and survey results.  Replace mask if additional stamping desired.
Completed project, with addition of bats, bling and sentiment!

Leave a comment or question.  I would love your feedback!

Many thanks,
Ina
